Marks and Spencer is opening a new East London store in 2025 with 50 jobs
Marks and Spencer has announced plans to open a brand new 12,000 square foot store in Leytonstone next summer. Inside the fresh market-style food hall on High Road, bread and pastries will be baked fresh daily at the in-store bakery, with barista-made coffee available to takeaway and customers will be able to browse dedicated flower and wine sections and take home a range of fresh and seasonal fruit and vegetables.
Shoppers can also easily pick up online orders via the store’s click and collect point. The opening is estimated to create more 50 new local jobs and is part of a £30million investment by the retailer in its Greater London stores this year.
M&S told MyLondon that the wages at the new store haven’t yet been set as the opening is so far away. However, its website says that Customer Assistants working in the capital are on £13.15 per hour, a 9.1 per cent increase on last year.
