Marooned car and flooded businesses among more than a dozen 999 calls for help
Marooned cars and flooded businesses were among more than a dozen 999 calls for help across Warwickshire during the severe rain. Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that between 9am yesterday (Thursday, September 26) and 9am this morning (September 27) it received 14 emergency calls to flooding related incidents.
This ranged from a flooded business in Nuneaton to a car marooned in water in Hatton. Warwickshire Police also received numerous 999 calls to report flooded roads as heavy rain lashed the region last night.
In Nuneaton, Weddington fields and Sandon Park today remain engulfed in water due to flooding from the nearby River Anker. Fortunately residents in the nearby notoriously flood hit Cleaver Gardens were not impacted. This is because flood barriers appeared to keep the flood water out of the block of flats but the car park has been submerged.
