Married At First Sight couple Alex Garner and Zoe Hendrix welcome their first baby

Married At First Sight’s Alex Garner and Zoe Hendrix have confirmed that they’ve welcomed their first child together, two years after meeting on the unconventional dating series.

The married couple, who were matched on the Australian version of the show in 2015, recently shared some adorable snaps of their newborn baby daughter, Harper-Rose, on Instagram.

“HARPER-ROSE you are just too good to be true,” Zoe captioned the photo of her sleeping baby girl, shared with her 68.4k followers. “I could sit and stare at you for hours. You were well worth that wait my darling. #2weeksoldtoday @alex_garner_”

Taking part in their first family photo shoot with Woman’s Day magazine, the newlyweds shared details of their “terrifying” birth experience, admitting they had been afraid of losing their baby during labour.

Zoe, who was induced on November 14 after suffering with pelvic problems, revealed that fear rushed over her while giving birth to Harper, as the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck – twice.

But luckily, both mother and baby are now happy and healthy after recovering from the distressing ordeal, and the proud parents have had time to reflect on their lives so far while looking forward to their new chapter as a family.

“Sitting here holding something so precious – that is a part of me, that is my blood – is something I’ve always dreamed of, and I will cherish it forever,” Zoe gushed.

Alex added: “She’s stolen my heart in so many ways. I just feel like the luckiest man alive!”

On Monday, the pair announced the arrival of their daughter on Instagram, with Zoe writing: “A SLICE OF HEAVEN ON EARTH. @alex_garner_ & I would like to joyfully welcome into the world our beautiful daughter Harper-Rose Garner.

“Born November 14, 2016. 10:35pm, 3.37kg, 52cm. Harper-Rose is a dream come true and our hearts are exploding with love for our little girl.”
