Lately, we've seen Sex and the City, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The Wonder Years and so many more hit shows of the ’80s and ’90s get the reboot treatment, and now, it looks like another popular series will be joining their ranks: Married... with Children.

According to a report from Deadline, the hit Fox sitcom, which first aired in 1987 and ran for eleven seasons, will be reimagined in a new animated series written by Alex Carter, who previously served as an executive producer on Family Guy.

While the reboot hasn't been officially picked up by a network or streaming service yet, the idea has been workshopped by Sony Pictures Television for the past year. And the best part? All four of the show's leads— Ed O’Neill, Katey Sagal, Christina Applegate and David Faustino—have reportedly closed deals with Sony to join the revival.

The leads of Married... with Children have certainly been keeping busy these past few years. O'Neill wrapped up his role on Modern Family when the show ended its run in 2020, while Sagal has played a recurring role as Louise on The Conners since 2018. Meanwhile, Applegate currently plays Jen Harding on the popular Netflix black comedy Dead to Me, while Faustino has done voice work for popular kids’ series like The Legend of Korra and Winx Club.

Deadline predicts that the animated revival could be picked up by Fox, given that this is the network that originally aired the series, or it will be streamed on Hulu or Peacock, since both of these services currently allow subscribers to watch episodes of the original series.

All we know is that we hope this reboot gets picked up sooner rather than later.
