So, which Married At First Sight UK couples are still together?
Married at First Sight UK is officially back, and quite possibly better than ever, for its ninth season on E4. The reality TV series sees experts pairing together couples who meet for the first time on their wedding day, before embarking on their marriage journey - going on honeymoon, moving in together and meeting the families, before deciding at the end of the experiment if they want to continue their marriage. But, of all the couples who tied the knot, who is still together now?
Well the show has only just begun, but we’re already putting on our detective hats to suss out who is still in marital bliss, and who has already called the divorce lawyers. Read on (if you want spoilers) to find out who is still together from series nine of Married at First Sight UK.
Kieran and Kristina
Relationship status: Still together (we think)
Kieran, 28, and Kristina, 31, were the first couple to officially tie the knot in an unforgettable ceremony (we’ll never get over those teeth). The pair hit it off instantly, that is after Kieran pulled out his fake teeth, and bonded over their shared high energy and love for the weird and wonderful.
And things continued to go well on their honeymoon, with the pair opening up about their insecurities and how they've contributed to the breakdown of past relationships.
They've continued to build their relationship since moving in together, and honestly just seem beyond loved up.
As for whether they’re still together, well we’re confused. Kristina follows Kieran on Instagram, but he doesn’t follow her back. Surely, this isn’t a good sign?
Caspar and Emma
Relationship status: Still together (we think)
Caspar, 34, and Emma, 31, were next to head down the aisle in the first episode of the series. While Emma was over the moon with her new husband, Caspar was a little less impressed and said while he liked Emma she reminded him of his twin sister, which is yeah, not exactly what you want to hear.
And things went from bad to worse on their honeymoon, with Caspar revealing to Emma he didn't have the spark for her, and has rarely "gone for the curvier person" in his previous relationships. Emma then told Caspar he needed to reevaluate his view on women. By the end of the honeymoon they did appear to patch things up a bit and said they were both going to work on their marriage.
Upon returning to the UK the pair didn't move in together, and have been slowly working on building up their friendship first.
Emma and Caspar do both follow each other on Instagram, so maybe this is a sign they’re still together and things have progressed on a better note following the honeymoon?
Nathan and Lacey
Relationship status: Still together (we think)
24-year-old Nathan is the youngest groom in the experiment and he’s now married to 27-year-old office manager Lacey. Their marriage didn’t exactly get off to the best start, with Nathan giving Lacey’s twin sister more compliments than her, eek.
However, things went better during the wedding reception as they got a chance to talk one on one and Nathan opened up more to Lacey, giving her confidence in the pairing.
On their honeymoon, Lacey initially appeared frustrated at Nathan's lack of deep conversation, but she ended up talking to him about it and he appeared to be more forthcoming. Their honeymoon ended on a sweet note with Nathan gifting Lacey a new necklace.
In the UK, they appear to be getting on very well, and keep on expressing their strong feelings for each other.
But have things lasted? Well currently Lacey follows Nathan on Instagram, but he doesn’t follow her back…
Eve and Charlie
Relationship status: Not together
Next to tie the knot were Eve, 31, and Charlie, 30, and it’s safe to say they got on very well during their wedding day. There appeared to be an instant connection and chemistry, and they even began speaking about where they’d relocate to during their wedding breakfast. A sign of good things to come?
Um, well not exactly. Their honeymoon was full of drama. During their trip away Eve ended up booking into a different hotel room as she felt she needed space from Charlie and the pair got into a number of arguments while away over their differing communication styles and need for space.
And when they returned to the UK things got even worse. The pair didn't move in together, and were constantly arguing. In the second dinner party things appeared to reach a breaking point, after fellow bride Polly called Charlie a 'bully' for the way she had been treating Eve, after Eve had spoken at length about her relationship with Charlie with the rest of the women.
Before the second commitment ceremony, Charlie revealed Eve had "listened in" to her interview which is meant to be a safe space for everyone to express their feelings. Eve denies listening in, however, it appeared to be the final straw as the pair both chose to leave during the commitment ceremony.
And it seems there's been no chance of a reconciliation as Eve appears to have moved on. On Instagram the pair don’t follow each other, and in a recent post, Eve shared two pictures of herself holding hands with someone but didn’t tag the individual in the post.
Adam and Polly
Relationship status: Unclear
Adam and Polly were one of the most recent couples to get married in the experiment. Adam, a 33-year-old barber from Nottingham, and 28-year-old Polly, a careers advisor from Kent, were matched by the experts. But things didn't go super well on their wedding day, when Adam failed to compliment Polly at the altar.
"I just want him to like me" Polly cried to camera, while Adam was filmed saying he wanted to make sure he was settling down with 100% the right person.
They then went on their honeymoon, where they revealed they had slept together on the wedding night, but had not since been intimate, and this has carried on throughout the rest of their time in the series so far.
Their biggest stumbling block in the relationship seems to be Adam's hesitation to be intimate with Polly, because of a lack of attraction. And despite an intimacy workshop with Charlene, there still doesn't seem to be much progression.
After the second commitment ceremony they have stayed in the process.
Ross and Sacha
Relationship status: Still together (we think)
Ross, a 32 painter and decorator from Manchester and Sacha, a 29-year-old aesthetics practitioner from Birmingham, were paired up over their family values and morals. While things seemed to be going well on their wedding day, things took a turn when Sacha revealed to Ross's best friend that she was celibate, and she ducked out of kissing him at the altar.
During the pair's honeymoon, Sacha started to open up and begin to trust Ross more, even allowing him to share a bed with her, after initially feeling hesitant about this next step.
And they've continued to work on their trust and intimacy since returning to the UK and both chosen to happily stay in the process for the first two commitment ceremonies.
Alex and Holly
Relationship status: Still together (we think)
29-year-old beautician Holly and 28-year-old Alex who works in aviation operations were next to head down the aisle. Their wedding day got off to a great start, with each of them being very happy with what they saw at the end of the aisle. And both their families seemed really happy with the pairing (we're obsessed with Alex's aunties' energy).
During the wedding breakfast Alex confided in Holly's best friend that he was initially reserved about being married to someone who has children (Holly is a mum of two). However, he later dismissed Holly's worries on the subject and the two seemed to be on cloud nine heading into their honeymoon.
But they didn't stay on cloud nine forever as they had a big argument during the holiday, but then made up. This seems to be their pattern that carries on throughout the show, as they have been shown to be arguing multiple times, before moving on and forgiving each other.
They even had a therapy session with Paul, who advised them to create boundaries and a safe word to implement these boundaries moving forward. Straight after this session however, they ended up arguing again, but did make progress in not allowing it to impact the dinner party and resolved it in private like they said they would.
And during the second commitment ceremony they both chose to stay.
Orson and Richelle
Relationship status: Still together (we think)
Orson, 41, and Richelle, 48, are the oldest couple in this year's experiment. Both from the Caribbean originally, their wedding got off to a good start when they discovered this fact about each other, and they both seemed happy with each other's physical appearance.
Things then got a bit awkward during the wedding photos when Richelle asked Orson a lot of questions (well they have just got married, she needs to know details) which Orson found overwhelming.
However, they ended their wedding on a high and seemed to be looking forward to their honeymoon. But when it came to the honeymoon, things were hardly idyllic and Richelle began to question why Orson was still impacted by being cheated on five years previously. Orson then told Richelle he was starting to get the feels for her, which she couldn't understand as they hardly knew each other.
Richelle ended up leaving the honeymoon without Orson and not moving in with him. He attended the first dinner party alone, unsure whether Richelle would turn up.
She thankfully did show up for the first commitment ceremony and after a tough conversation with the experts said she was here for the long haul and wanted to commit to the process.
In their second week in the UK, things went better for the pair, with Richelle saying her biggest concern was wanting to learn more about Orson and being able to trust him.
They both chose to stay in the process, so hopefully more trust will be built in the next episodes.
Luke and Amy
Relationship status: Still together (we think)
Luke, 30, and Amy, 27, were the first intruder couple of the series, getting married in the 12th episode. Prison education manager Luke seemed overjoyed with his new bride and couldn't keep his eyes off her, while wedding planner Amy wasn't as keen. She thought Luke was attractive but started to get feelings of ick with his overtly affectionate tone. However, by the end of the wedding night she seemed a little more open to Luke.
It's still very early days, but the couple still follow each other on Instagram, so maybe this is a sign of good things to come for these two?
