Married at First Sight UK's resident love expert Mel Schilling has teased "upping the ante" when it comes to "love bombs" in the next season.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other media, Mel revealed that upcoming episodes are going to be "so exciting", with lots of interesting matches, as well as more diversity and, of course, drama.

"Oh my gosh. We are in the process of filming. It's so exciting. You know, all of those love bombs that were dropped in the last season, we are upping the ante this season," she said.

"There's more diversity, there's more interesting matches and surprising matches, more drama that is totally unanticipated, it just bubbles to the surface."

She went on to explain that sometimes there are surprises when it comes to the couples and even they can't always predict how a love story is going to end up.

"I find every season, it happens both ways where there's a couple where we think 'Oh, this is going to be the next love story' and then they fall to pieces," she said.

"And vice versa, there's a couple where we think, 'Oh, there's gonna be fireworks' and they absolutely love each other. I think that's what keeps us coming back."

The love expert recently opened up about receiving abuse and even death threats through her work on MAFS.

"I have received death threats, rape threats, and it wasn't just online," she said. "I was accused of inciting domestic violence, which is something I am passionately opposed to.

"Every day I go through my Instagram and delete all the hate messages; it's just become a way of life now. The hate mainly comes from Australian audiences who are very critical about what I do on the show."

Married At First Sight and Married At First Sight Australia air on E4 and are streaming on All 4.
