Married at First Sight wants contestants for hit TV show
The popular dating series Married at First Sight is looking for new contestants to tie the knot with someone they just met. The E4 series, which was the second most streamed in the UK last autumn, has seen many successful weddings with four couples even going on to start a family together.
A representative for the BAFTA-nominated show explained: "Married at First Sight UK is a bold social experiment where single people, matched by experts, marry total strangers, who they meet for the very first time on their wedding day. After meeting at the altar, the newlyweds will go on a luxury honeymoon, before moving in together, alongside the other couples within the experiment.
"Each week, the couples will be put through challenges, carefully designed by the experts, to help strengthen and expedite their relationship. They will then attend weekly dinner parties with the other couples, as well as a weekly Commitment Ceremony, to discuss their relationship with the experts.

"The couples must then decide if they want to stay in the experiment or whether they want to go their separate ways. "
The open casting call asks hopeful brides and grooms to-be how long they've been single for, why they believe they haven't found "The One" yet, and why they want they get married to a complete stranger. Married at First Sight say they "[celebrate] love in all its forms", with any singleton in the UK over the age of 18 being welcome to apply.
One recent contestant is Nathan from Somerset, a 24-year-old engineer who married 27-year-old officer worker Lacey on their first meeting. Married at First Night described Nathan as so: "Ready for any challenge that’s thrown at him, Nathan is a manufacturing engineer who is no stranger to the attention of women.
"Tired of dating gym bunnies and models, Nathan joined the MAFS UK experiment as he wants to get started on a big family and find a partner who he can connect with on a deeper level. He may be young, but he knows exactly what he wants from his future bride.
"His perfect match needs to be petite, funny, family-oriented and someone with traditional family values. Will the experts be able to engineer true love for Nathan?"
While it remains to be seen if Nathan and Lacey are in it for the long haul, it didn't look like love at first sight for the newlyweds.
Applications for the next series of Married at First Sight are open now and close on Saturday, February 1 2025. You can apply online.
