Mars is set to revive an iconic chocolate bar from the 1980s for a short time only.

The iconic treat is making a comeback today (September 19) and will remain on shelves until December. The nutty chocolate delight was rebranded in 1990 to align with its American name.

However, it still holds a special place in British hearts by its classic name... Marathon. Now, for a limited time, the Marathon bar is returning, exclusively available at Morrisons.

This isn't Mars' first rodeo bringing back the Marathon bar. During a previous revival in 2019, the chocolate bar proved so popular that over 4 million were snapped up by eager fans within just 12 weeks. The Snickers bar, originally launched in 1930 and named after the favourite horse of the Mars family, made its UK debut as Marathon in 1967.

Talking about the special Marathon retro edition Steve Waters, Senior Brand Manager, said: "We're excited to bring back the Marathon bar branding for a limited period. It's a great way to celebrate over 90 years of Mars making chocolate in the UK.

"We hope fans of Snickers, who remember when it was called Marathon, will enjoy picking it up in store!"
