Martin Lewis' MSE issues warning to Tesco shoppers who have 'two weeks' to act

Martin Lewis' Money Saving Expert has issued a warning to Clubcard holders - telling Tesco shoppers "you have two weeks". If you've got a Tesco Clubcard, check if you have any vouchers close to expiring, as £18 million-worth are due to run out on Saturday 30 November.

Tesco Clubcard vouchers are only valid for two years from the date they were issued but MSE explains: " You can DOUBLE the value of your vouchers by spending them at Tesco's 'Reward Partners'." It says: " Once you've found your vouchers, you can spend them online at Tesco using the code provided – or if you plan to spend them in store, you can print your vouchers or scan the barcode available in the app at the checkout."

And if your Clubcard vouchers are due to expire and you don't want to use them yet, MSE says you can extend them, adding: "Make a small purchase on the Tesco Clubcard Rewards page (not in store or on other Tesco pages) or donate to one of its partner charities.

"The remaining balance is credited back to your Clubcard account as points. So if you spend 50p using a £5 Clubcard voucher, you'll get 450 points back (worth £4.50). You can then swap your points for vouchers manually or wait for them to be converted with your next statement. The expiry date for these new vouchers will be two years in the future.

"There's no minimum spend, but the aim's to shell out as little as possible." Your vouchers are valid for 2 years. Once they’ve expired, you won’t be able to use them, so make sure you don’t forget about them. Tesco explains: "Your Clubcard points are turned into Clubcard vouchers. 150 points gives you £1.50 in Clubcard vouchers.

"You can use your Clubcard vouchers to spend with Tesco or to exchange for up to 2x the value with our Reward Partners. Please note that you can’t spend your Clubcard vouchers on Tesco Marketplace. During the 2 weeks before we send out your statement, we calculate the amount of Clubcard vouchers to send to you.

"You can also request vouchers between statements."
