Martin Lewis warns over 'two' DWP benefits after meeting with Chancellor
Martin Lewis has met with the new Labour Party government to discuss TWO Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) benefits. The Martin Lewis Money Show star has met with Rachel Reeves, the Labour Party Chancellor, on Tuesday, he said.
The BBC and ITV star said Winter Fuel Payments and Carer's Allowance were on his agenda. Martin said: "About to head off to meet @RachelReevesMP at her Commons office - very grateful for her time. On my (long list) to discuss includes Winter Fuel Payments, Carers Allowance, LISAs, Cost of Living and far more.
" I'm wearing my 'campaigner' not 'journalist' hat when i go in, so won't be reporting on the meeting, as its far more productive that way. My views on these issues are pretty well known though, so its not hard to work out what I'll say."

In reply, a social media user said: "Martin please remember that winter fuel allowance is essentially a tax payer subsidy for expensive fossil fuels. We create a circle of high costs and subsidies which we must break. Insulation and cheaper heating is the resolution long term."
"Don't turn your back on her, or say her name 3 times consecutively, and you should make it out in one piece," a second said. Another said: "Carers allowance should not be stopped once state pension is payable. Its hard enough being a full time carer to a loved one, but gets harder as the carers health fails. Thousands of worn out carers are saving the government a fortune by continuing to care at home for a relative."
"Please ask why 800 Lords get up to £320 per day & why Prime Ministers still get their wage even when they finish as PM? I found a document that showed expenses for the Lords. It makes for interesting reading. This would free up alot more money than taking off pensioners," another commented.
