The 42-year-old, who is now enjoying a blissful family life with husband Jack and son Rafferty said: “It took me a long time to get my confidence back, then I wanted to have my baby. Everybody bares themselves in a different way, but Adele is a real inspiration.”

She released three albums over the course of her career - You Me & Us, Wishing, and Musicality, along with a greatest hits album in 2012. Not only that, she also received rave reviews for performances in My Fair Lady in the West End, as well as a star turn in Love Actually.

She recently hit back at her ex, Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall, after they became embroiled in a Twitter spat when she recounted a time where she threw up in his hair after a few drinks when they were dating.

Mick took to Twitter to slam the star, claiming she was making it up – though Martine protested her innocence, and said they whole thing was supposed to be a funny story that got blown out of proportion.

“I got the length of his hair wrong but the rest of it is completely right and I stand by what I said.

“I don’t know why he wants to rewrite history, but there you go.

“It’s my embarrassment, not his, so I don’t know what the issue is.

“I thought I could just laugh at it and not take it so seriously.”
