Marvel is going all-out with The Defenders, teaming up superheroes Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
Interestingly, in a new bit of artwork posted by Marvel Entertainment's Joe Quesada, Elektra (Elodie Yung) is prominently featured alongside them – and next to Sigourney Weaver's mysterious villain.
Here's a quick piece I did (sans logo and text) as a cast and crew gift for the Defenders team. This show is going to blow you away! pic.twitter.com/1Fw9MXTiZf- JoeQuesada (@JoeQuesada) April 12, 2017
We already knew that Elektra would be returning, and that she would have a significant part to play – it has been claimed that she will be a series regular on the miniseries.
But the poster suggests that she might be on the opposite side, actually fighting against Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and the Defenders.
Daredevil fans will know that Elektra was killed in the season two finale, while battling the Hand with Daredevil.
The Hand were later seen recovering her corpse with plans to resurrect her as the weapon Black Sky.
The Defenders will have their work cut out later this year when they take on Sigourney Weaver's baddie – named Alexandra.
Showrunner Marco Ramirez teased what's in store, calling Alexandra an "utter badass" and "sophisticated, intellectual, dangerous".
"We knew it would take something massive to pull these four characters from their individual worlds to work together," he added. "But also small enough that it felt like it existed in our world."
Marvel's The Defenders arrives on Netflix on August 18.
