Finn Jones is returning for another solo round of Iron Fist, Marvel and Netflix have confirmed.

The first season suffered a famous critical mauling, although audience responses were considerably more positive, and the show became Netflix's most-binged premiere of 2017 up to that point.

Friday's Comic-Con panel for The Defenders also revealed that production on Iron Fist season 2 will start soon, while Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb suggested Simone Missick's Misty Knight will be involved. (His exact words were that a new character would "make you a little misty".)

It's worth noting that, in the comics, Misty and Colleen Wing (played by Jessica Henwick in Iron Fist) team up to become the Daughters of the Dragon.

Iron Fist's star Finn Jones has previously defended the show against criticism by saying that it is for "the fans".

"I think some of the reviews we saw were seeing the show through a very specific lens, and I think when the fans of the Marvel Netflix world and fans of the comic books view the show through the lens of just wanting to enjoy a superhero show, then they will really enjoy what they see," he said.

"I think it's a fantastic show which is really fun and I think it stands up there with the other Defenders' shows without a doubt."

We'll next be seeing Danny Rand, Misty Knight and Colleen Wing when Marvel's The Defenders hits Netflix on August 18. You can find out all about the team-up series here, and watch the new Comic-Con trailer below:
