The focus right now may be on Tom Holland's portrayal of Spider-Man/Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Homecoming, but that doesn't mean comic book fans have forgotten about Marvel's other Spider-Man, Miles Morales.

It was announced earlier this year that Miles will finally get the big-screen adventure he deserves in a standalone animated film from Sony Pictures, but there was still hope that he'd also get an appearance in the live-action Spider-Man film too.

And, well, that hope wasn't entirely unwarranted, as it seems like Miles Morales *is* a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe... somewhere.

Before we go any further, while this article doesn't actually contain any spoilers from the film, it does confirm what part Donald Glover plays in Homecoming, so don't read on if you don't want to know that.

In a new interview with Screen Crush, Marvel boss Kevin Feige acknowledged that Miles is a part of the MCU.

But it's more of an Easter egg for now – his only mention comes when Donald Glover's character Aaron Davis references his nephew, who comic book readers will know is Miles.

But when Feige was then asked if we could see the alternative Spider-Man at some point down the line, he definitely teased that it was a possibility.

"All of those little things are just Easter eggs for fans until they're something more than that. But anything that's happened in the books is potential material for us," he said.

"In the meantime, I think Miles is a big part of the animated movie that Sony's making. But where we go ... we definitely want you to go, 'He's there. He's there somewhere'."

Tom Holland recently confirmed that a trilogy of films is in the works, so whether Miles could pop up in some form or another in any of the Homecoming sequels remains to be seen.

It wouldn't be the first time Marvel and Feige have played the long game with characters either, as recently it was confirmed that Peter Parker was actually in Iron Man 2 as the little boy in an Iron Man mask towards the end of the film (which is either really good planning, or really good retconning).

Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released on July 5 in the UK and July 7 in the US, and the first reactions have been overwhelmingly positive, so we should be in for a good one.
