Marvel's cinematic universe frequently drops huge news, such as letting the title of certain Avengers movies potentially slip. But it looks like the comic book universe could also have some Earth-shattering surprises in store as well.

Marvel's Axel Alonso told ABC News that their new Marvel Legacy comic book series is going to have huge ramifications, and specifically he expects it to "break the internet", just like Kim Kardahian's bum did all those years ago.

Speaking about the story, he said: "That story functions as a preview of what's to come. It's chocked full of twists, surprises, Easter eggs, and let's just say, a last-page reveal that's probably gonna break the internet.

"It's a big moment, something we continually get asked about. We are going to answer that question."

The creators plan to address some of the problems surrounding multiple people assuming the same superhero identify, for instance Spider-Man's Miles Morales and Peter Parker.

Marvel Legacy No.1 is written by Jason Aaron with art by Esad Ribic, along with a fold-out cover by Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada.

The title is aimed at rewarding long-time fans of the Marvel universe, as well as being welcoming to newbies at the same time.

Alonso also mentioned that the series would be "ushering in the return of some big characters who've been missed".
