Marvel confirms Hawkeye series will introduce a key comic book character
For those still reeling over Marvel's massive slate reveal yesterday (July 20) at Comic-Con, it may take a while to sift through every piece of superhero-related news the studio has dumped on us.
One such announcement was that comic book character Kate Bishop – who didn't end up making an appearance in Avengers: Endgame – will feature in the Disney+ Hawkeye series.
Casting for the character has not yet been announced, but she will indeed star alongside Jeremy Renner in the upcoming TV show.
Fans previously wondered if Kate would feature in Endgame after a shot of a young girl with a bow and arrow was teased in one of the film's trailers. However, as we all know now, it was just Hawkeye practicing archery with his daughter, Lila Barton.

Comic book fans will know Kate as a socialite and founding member of the Young Avengers. A team of young heroes formed during a time when the original had disbanded, each adopting a superhero identity inspired by classic Avengers.
While she has no superpowers, Kate proved herself to be a skilled fighter and marksman, and master tactician. She was later taken under Clint Barton's wing when the original Hawkeye – ahem – returned from the dead.
Hawkeye will premiere exclusively on Disney+ in Autumn 2021.
