Marvel unveils trailer and poster for new Disney+ anthology series Marvel 616

From Digital Spy

Dropping on streaming service Disney+ this November, we have a full-length trailer for anthology series Marvel 616.

Consisting of eight separate documentaries – directed by comic book lovers like Community's Alison Brie and Gillian Jacobs – the project delves into Marvel's rich legacy and "showcases the intersections of storytelling, pop culture, and fandom within the Marvel Universe".

There's also some brand new imagery to cast your eyes over.

In the trailer footage, we see various artists exploring the colourful pages of Marvel creations, while one guy declares: "Better take off your shoes because I'm gonna knock your socks off!"

Now, that's a promise we'll hold him to.

As well as groundbreaking characters such as Black Panther and Ms Marvel, Marvel 616 features an in-depth look at failures across the years, too.

This includes Doctor Druid, The Whizzer and Typeface (covered in episode 'Lost and Found').

Meanwhile, MCU spin-off show WandaVision also received its first proper trailer recently, offering fans a thorough look at Wanda Maximoff and Vision's trippy suburban lives.

Last year, Vision actor Paul Bettany described the series as a "six-hour movie".

"It's so avant-garde and weird and messed up and then moves seamlessly into more familiar territory," he explained. "But the place that it starts is so odd."

Marvel 616 begins streaming on Disney+ from Friday, November 20.
