Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has revealed that he is working on a way to honour the late Stan Lee.

The creator of Marvel Comics characters such as the X-Men, Fantastic Four, The Hulk, Iron Man and Spider-Man sadly passed away on Monday (November 12) after being rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, a family spokesperson confirmed to The AP.

Now, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Feige has said that the studio will find a way to honour the Marvel icon, but admitted that the best thing to do is to do his characters justice.

"We'll think about an appropriate way (to honour him) but even in the 18 years I've been at Marvel, the appropriate way is to do justice to the amazing characters and stories that he created. And we'll continue to do that," he said.

In a joint statement, Marvel and Disney offered their "undying gratitude" to Lee for his "unmatchable accomplishments" over more than 60 years. Additionally, Disney chairman Bob Iger said Lee was as "extraordinary as the characters he created".

"A superhero in his own right to Marvel fans around the world, Stan had the power to inspire, to entertain, and to connect," Iger added. "The scale of his imagination was only exceeded by the size of his heart."

Stan Lee passed away on November 12, 2018. He was 95 years old.
