Amazon Studios has confirmed that a fourth season of comedy drama series The Marvelous Mrs Maisel is on its way.
Just a few days after season three landed on the streaming platform – and earned the show its most watched opening weekend ever – the 16-time Emmy winner bagged two Golden Globe nominations, so it's no wonder more episodes have been ordered.
"We were thrilled to hear that for the fourth time, we do not have to pack up and vacate the premises," said showrunner Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Daniel Palladino in a statement.
"We'd like to thank Amazon for all their faith and support, their partnership and enthusiasm, and for letting us hang with our favourite people, the cast and crew of Maisel, for a little while longer."
Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon Studios, was equally as thrilled to see Miriam 'Midge' Maisel's (Rachel Brosnahan) story continue into the foreseeable future.
She said: "Amy and Dan have created such funny, charming, relatable characters, all with their inimitable wit and eye for detail, and our customers around the world will be delighted to have another season in the world of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel."
Set in the 1950s, the series sees Midge embrace her previously untapped talent for stand-up comedy after her husband leaves her for his secretary. Her success sees her venture far from her cosy life in New York's Upper West Side, as she starts performing in Manhattan nightclubs and television studios.
