The CW's live-action Powerpuff Girls pilot has found its three lead stars in Dove Cameron, Chloe Bennet and Yana Perrault.

Variety shared the casting update, which reunites Agents of SHIELD duo Cameron and Bennet, who portrayed Ruby Hale and Daisy 'Skye' Johnson (a.k.a Quake) respectively.

This pilot is set to be Perrault's TV debut, but she's known for producing her own original music, and is an established Broadway star with credits including the Alanis Morissette musical Jagged Little Pill.

As for who's playing who, Cameron is going to take on the role of America's sweetheart Bubbles – "initially more than interested" in the limelight than actually saving humankind.

Bennet will play the "conscientious" yet "reclusive" Blossom, while Perrault is on board as the "rebellious badass" that is Buttercup, who has preferred to live out an anonymous life during adulthood.

Let's hope they get to display their powers in more than just a pilot episode.

Meanwhile, this reboot is being written by executive producers Heather Regnier and Diablo Cody, with Arrowverse regular Greg Berlanti offering the services of Berlanti Productions too.

Riverdale, American Horror Story and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina director Maggie Kiley will call the shots.

A number of reboots are currently in the works – back in October it was revealed that Tim Burton plans to direct a live-action remake of The Addams Family.

Meanwhile, Criminal Minds is also being lined up for a reboot, only a year after the original show ended.
