Mark Ruffalo has finally responded to the rumour that the Hulk will be making an appearance in the new Moon Knight series.

Fans have long been speculating about whether the Hulk might turn up in the new Disney+ series, since Ruffalo's Bruce Banner was confirmed in another Disney+ Marvel series, She-Hulk.

In a tweet yesterday (August 31), he wrote: "As the person who's responsible for this next phase of the MCU, I would hate to spoil something. I have learned the hard way."

The tweet linked to an article on Screen Rant that highlighted an Instagram post from a fan who had grabbed a photo with the actor outside a hotel in Budapest last week (August 27).

Many clocked that Budapest – and, in fact, the hotel they were pictured in front of – has been one of the primary filming locations for Moon Knight.

Shortly after the fan posted to photo with Ruffalo, they posted another photo with Oscar Isaac, who has previously been confirmed to be filming Moon Knight in Budapest at the moment.

While this could be some bizarre coincidence, Ruffalo's tweet seems to suggest that the Hulk will be back in Phase 4 for Moon Knight.

"I learned the hard way," could easily refer to his infamous blunder in 2017 when he accidentally live-streamed the first 10 minutes of Thor: Ragnarok during its Los Angeles premiere, weeks before the actual release date.

If the rumours are true, he will be joining Oscar Isaac, who plays Moon Knight, otherwise known as Marc Spector. Isaac rose to fame in films such as Ex Machina, the Coen brothers' Inside Llewyn Davis and Star Wars (The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker).

He stars alongside May Calamawy (Ramy, Together Together) and the Oscar-nominated Ethan Hawke (Dead Poet's Society, The Magnificent Seven), whose characters are yet to be confirmed.

Hawke previously teased that he based his character around American cult leader David Koresh, leading many to speculate that he will play the main villain in the series.
