New Mary Poppins filmed in central London

A new version of the film May Poppins starring Emily Blunt was being shot on Whitehall in central London on Saturday.

A film crew appeared to to be shooting something similar to the famous chimney sweep scene from the original 1964 film.

The character Mary Poppins was first created by P. L. Travers and published as eight books over the period 1934 to 1988.
