Masked group lurk in street trying to burgle Devon homes
Police have issued a warning to residents in a Devon village over concerns a group of masked people tried to burgle a home. At least one burglary attempt in Sampford Peverell has been made so far, Devon and Cornwall Police said.
The masked group were seen in the village via doorbell footage overnight between Monday, November 25 and the early hours of Tuesday morning. Cullompton police said neighbourhood police teams are aware of the reports and extra patrols were carried out yesterday for residents to speak to officers.
The force urged locals not to hesitate with their concerns and has asked anyone with information on the group or the attempted burglary to get in touch. You can call police on 101 with log 0133 of November 26.

Cullompton Police added: "Please don’t wait before you report any concerns, we need as much information as we can get as soon as we can get it so that we can consider making arrests where possible."
In the statement, posted to Facebook, Cullompton Police said crime in Sampford Peverell is generally low and "thankfully burglaries are rare."
"As a matter of routine, burglaries at residential properties are investigated by Detectives who work with the Neighbourhood Team to identify suspects and take actions to prevent further harm in the community."
