Masked men point gun at resident during incident in East Belfast

A resident has been left "badly shaken" after a gin was pointed at them during an incident in East Belfast.

Detectives are appealing for information following a report of men armed with a weapon in the Channing Street area on Thursday, January 23.

The victim was able to call the police before anyone was injured.

Detective Sergeant McCartan said: “At approximately 9.30pm, a report was received that two masked men called to a property in the Channing Street area and pointed a gun at the resident.

“The victim was able to push the men away before calling police.

“Luckily no one was hurt but the residents have been left badly shaken by their ordeal.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have noticed the men in the area or to anyone with CCTV, doorbell or other footage that could assist with enquiries to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference 1720 23/01/25.”
