Singing Phil Collins's “In the Air Tonight” on Wednesday’s episode, Brown referenced overcoming tragedy in his Clues video. He spoke about how he overcame being nervous when performing as a child and was discovered on a talent show.
After being unmasked, the New Edition singer said, “As everybody knows, I lost my two children. I lost my daughter Bobbi Kristina and I lost my son just recently, Bobby Jr. And they were a part of everything that I do this for. I do this for my kids.”
Bobbi Kristina, whose mother was the late Whitney Houston, died aged 22 in 2015, while Bobby Jr died last November, aged 29.
“I just felt it was essential that I come out here and do it for my little ones,” he continued “My five-year-old, my four-year-old, and my 11-year-old, you know, to let them see that their dad is still, you know, kicking.”

Brown also opened up about losing Bobbi Kristina and Houston, who died in 2012, on Red Table Talk, earlier this month, alleging that Bobbi Kristina’s ex-fiancé Nick Gordon provided the drugs that led to both her and her mother's deaths.
“[Gordon] was the only one there for both situations with my ex-wife and my daughter and they both died the exact same way," he told the hosts, claiming that Gordon most likely supplied them with the drugs that led to their fatal bathtub accidents.
“I think he was more so a provider of party favours to them,” he said.
In February 2012, Houston was found submerged in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, where she was later pronounced dead. At the time, the local coroner's office reported that her death was caused by a combination of heart disease, drowning, and cocaine use.
The couple's daughter, Bobbi Kristina, died three years later in an eerily similar manner. She was found facedown in a bathtub in her Georgia home in 2015, and later died in hospice care at the age of 22.
According to the autopsy report, multiple drugs were found in her system, including narcotics and prescription drugs, including marijuana, alcohol and medications used for sedation or to treat anxiety.
