The Masked Singer UK spoilers follow.

The Masked Singer UK star Sophie Ellis-Bextor has admitted that she was "rumbled" by the judges before her big reveal.

The 'Murder on the Dancefloor' songstress was the first celebrity to be unmasked in the UK edition's second series, which premiered on Boxing Day (December 26) and saw Sophie exposed as Alien before being booted from the show.

Speaking recently, Sophie revealed that three of the show's judges actually 'said her name' on the day too, so she knew that she'd been "rumbled".

Thankfully, however, Sophie took it as a compliment.

"They didn't put it in the edit but three of the judges said my name as well, so I already knew so I'd been rumbled," she said (via The Sun).

"I suppose in a way that's lovely because it's my day job and you want to have a recognisable voice as a singer. But I felt like I'd done quite a good job so I was quite surprised."

And speaking about her decision to try and disguise her singing voice, Sophie added: "My kids found it absolutely hilarious that I put on such a weird accent. They were like, 'Why on earth did you do that?'

"I thought I've got to jump in with both feet and play a game because it’s not really a singing competition, it's an identity competition."

Sophie's comments follow the series making one big change for the second season.

As previously revealed, The Masked Singer UK season 2 clues will be much more difficult than the first time around, making it more difficult for viewers to guess the contestants' identities.

Show host Joel Dommett said: "The clue packages are much harder this time around, they can really throw you off the scent."

The Masked Singer continues at 7pm on Saturday (January 2) on ITV.
