ITV aired another episode of The Masked Singer this evening (January 18) and now we finally know who was beneath the Tree costume.

Judging panel Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora, Ken Jeong and Davina McCall all got fairly close by predicting the incognito singer was a former footballer, but they were all left stunned as England and Manchester United legend Teddy Sheringham took off the mask.

The judges were in awe of the footy icon, who lost out in a sing-off with Octopus.

After taking his mask off in front of the celebrating studio audience, Teddy opened up about his time on the show.

"I've had sleepless nights trying to remember the words [to the songs]," he said. "My wife has been helping me."

Teddy genuinely surprised with his vocals, singing 'Evergreen' by Westlife and 'Lovely Day' by Bill Withers.

Fans had previously speculated that Jamie Redknapp was Tree, but the football pundit recently shot down the rumours.

Quizzed about it on Good Morning Britain, Redknapp said: "I kept getting messages going, 'Are you a tree?'

"I'm like, 'Well, yeah, if you want me to say that'," he joked, before clarifying: "No, I'm not a tree."

Safe to say, no-one saw Teddy coming.

The Masked Singer airs on ITV.
