The Masked Singer US unveiled another star on its episode last night.

The special DC Superheroes-themed night saw the usual judges joined by Shazam: Fury of the Gods stars Helen Mirren and Zachary Levi to help present clues.

But ultimately it was Wolf who was voted off, following a performance of The Doors song ‘Break On Through (To The Other Side)’, and a sing-off with Squirrel to 3 Doors Down's 'Kryptonite'.

Judges Nicole Scherzinger, Jenny McCarthy and Robin Thicke all agreed that the identity belonged to Grammy-Award winning singer Michael Bolton, with Ken Jeong not convinced.

And sure enough, it was Bolton behind the mask, who said how much he’d loved his short-lived time on the show.

"I could get used to being the Wolf," he said.

"It was great. The audience was great. The show's great. But the audience, you guys were fantastic. Thank you."

Telling host Nick Cannon why he decided to take part, Bolton continued: "Got some things going on, and an album going out in the spring.

"It's about making this a beautiful world despite whatever's going on. Whatever the climb, we've got to do our best to make it a beautiful world.

"That's what this album's about."

Former X Factor judge Scherzinger, who was dressed as Catwoman for the night, added: "Michael, it's an honour always to hear you sing.

"No one does it like you, and you still do it so gracefully and effortlessly."

Bolton was one of three new contestants joining the show, and singing for the first time.

The others, Gargoyle, who impressed with his version of Charlie Puth's 'One Call Away' and Squirrel who sang 'Try' by Pink, will return to sing another day.

The Masked Singer US continues next week with a Sesame Street-themed episode.

The Masked Singer US season 9 airs on Fox, while The Masked Singer UK airs on ITV1.
