The Masked Singer UK's latest eliminee Mel B has revealed that she received "many text messages" from her former Spice Girls bandmates after being unmasked.

The 45-year-old took part in ITV's singing competition in the Seahorse costume, but was booted out by the judges in the second episode last weekend.

But what did the likes of Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham and Mel C make of her dramatic unmasking?

When asked if any of her fellow Spice Girls had contacted her, she told Radio Times and others: "Yeah, I got so many text messages going, 'Oh my God, I can't believe it was you!'

"I came to London a few times to rehearse to do the whole song and costume fitting and stuff and I would say to the girls, 'I'm in London' and then I'd have to remind myself, 'Shit – I can't tell them why I'm in London!'"

Mel B went on to recall: "They're like, 'You're just in and out [of London] in a day?' and I'm like, 'Yeah, sorry!' But now they're like, 'Oh, that's why you came down to London then...'

"I don't think any of them thought that I could keep a secret, even though I'm very good at keeping secrets and I succeeded with this one."

The Masked Singer continues this Saturday (January 9) on ITV.
