Masked thieves raid Domino's pizza shop armed with knives and huge machete

This is the terrifying moment a gang of masked thugs armed with knives and a huge machete targeted a Domino's pizza takeaway restaurant in east London.

The thugs threatened staff with blades before making off with large amounts of cash from the shop in Brentwood Road, Romford, Scotland Yard has said.

Dramatic CCTV footage shows three suspects wearing balaclavas jumping over the counter and searching for cash during the raid which unfolded at about midnight on March 16.

They said a fourth suspect was on look out while the others carried out the robbery before fleeing on foot down the nearby Great Gardens Road.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may recognise those pictured in the CCTV to contact police as they continue to investigate the raid.

Police said the suspects were described as white males with accents believed to be from the local area.

Detective Constable Billy Baxter, East Area Command CID, said: “Our initial investigation leads us to believe that this was a pre-planned robbery, with one suspect being used as a look-out.

“We are appealing to anyone who recognises the people in the CCTV footage or know who was behind this, or any information that may assist us with our investigation to come forward and speak to us.”
