It's taken a while, but the latest series of MasterChef has finally worked its way through the quarter-finals and the semi-finals and is finally heading towards the final finals. Finally.

Tonight's (March 22) episode saw Geoff, Thomas, Irini and Delia make it through, meaning that any of them could take the crown.

Before we got to the results, there were plenty of typical MasterChef 'what the?' moments.

First, and strangest, was contestant Tim deciding to make tacos in the semi-final of a cookery competition. But they weren't just any tacos, Tim was making pig's head tacos.

Okay, so they were just pulled pork when he actually made them, but still... ewww:

Tim was eliminated at this stage.

We also had Panisha making a Spice Girls-themed dish, which meant that we got some dreadful puns. Gregg couldn't contain his excitement when he said "can you make two become one?"

Panisha was eliminated at this stage.

It was probably for the best though, as the remaining contestants had to take part in the 'work in a super fancy restaurant kitchen while John shouts at everyone' stage. The clients included a whole host of authors and business owners, including Levi Roots and April from The Apprentice series 11, who seems to be doing quite well for herself.

Then, it was back to the MasterChef kitchen where everyone got to cook for the five critics, one of whom was Grace Dent, who is always great TV.

Following that, Alex was then eliminated, leaving us with our complete line-up of contestants for the last show of the series. The end is in sight!
