Yahoo News We Now Know MasterChef 2020's Start Date, And It's Soon!
If there's one thing we love, it's curling up on the sofa and watching MasterChef. We particularly enjoy tuning in to the BBC show and shouting at the TV about how much better we could do; all while sat eating Super Noodles with a bit of old toast.
MasterChef will be back in 2020 to give us the opportunity to yell at the contestants and marvel at the often surprising words and noises that come out of Gregg Wallace and John Torode's mouths. So here's everything we know about MasterChef 2020 aka series 16.
When does MasterChef 2020 start?
Hooray - we finally know when MasterChef 202o starts. The sixteenth series will kick off on Monday 24 February. There will then be episodes on the following Wednesday and Friday.
This year, MasterChef will take the Monday night primetime slot, so instead of airing at its usual 8pm time, you can watch it at 9pm.
MasterChef 2020 judges
Unless we hear otherwise, we're assuming that John Torode and Gregg Wallace will return to judge MasterChef 2020. John and Gregg have fronted the show since it began in 2005, and it just wouldn't be the same without them.

MasterChef 2020 contestants
Again, we don't have any information on the MasterChef 2020 contestants, but we'll let you know as soon as we do. Last year, 56 amateur cooks competed over four weeks of heats, but we didn't get to meet them properly until the first episode.
Last year's winner was 61-year-old Irini Tzortzoglou, who became the fifteenth amateur cook to claim the title.
On winning, and after asking if she could share the trophy with her fellow finalists, an emotional Irini said: “I’m trembling, I’m floating on air, I don’t think my feet are touching the ground right now. What an experience, I just don’t have the words to say how thrilled and grateful I am.”
