It was the semi-final on MasterChef tonight (May 1) and Gregg Wallace and John Torode set our hopefuls the task of picking their favourite ingredients and 'elevating' them to the next level.
With all our contestants being proper foodies (or at least aiming to be as pretentious as the professionals), they listed their favourite ingredients as things like rhubarb, beetroot, cauliflower and fennel.
Viewers on Twitter were obviously having none of it, because these are rubbish ingredients, so the public decided to reveal their own food favourites alongside criticising the contestants.
Tweets may contain strong language.
i refuse to believe anyone's favourite food is rhubarb #Masterchef- Ariadne Griffin (@Ariadne_Griffin) May 1, 2017

Fennel? Seaweed? Cauliflower? Beetroot? Rhubarb? Ginger? The lady cooking pork has to win just for my sanity's sake #MasterChef- Kirsty Porter (@kj_porter1) May 1, 2017
My favourite ingredient is the crispy edge of a slightly overdone lasagne.#MasterChef- rab livingstone (@rablivingstone) May 1, 2017
Beyond that, Brodie finally managed to get his act together and make a meal on time, which... didn't actually cause that much rejoicing on Twitter. Poor Brodie, maybe people thought that it was too little too late for him, and his time was up.
Except that when it came to the result, it was Lyndsay who got sent home, to the shock of the viewers.
#MasterChef Nooooo not Lyndsey - Greg and John why why why???- JamieDornanLive (@JamieDornanLive) May 1, 2017
She took that so well, I bet she is a nice person. #MasterChef- BlackWaxSolution (@eops) May 1, 2017
Now that Lyndsay has sadly gone, there are only eight contestants left, which means that the end is (finally) in sight.
MasterChef continues Wednesday (May 3) at 8pm on BBC One.
