New masterplan reveals another huge housing development in Nuneaton
A masterplan has revealed a new homes plan for a Nuneaton community. Bellway Strategic Land has confirmed it wants to build 160 homes on land off Plough Hill Road.
It would be built on a 16-acre site to the east of the main road. The firm says it would include 40 affordable homes, along with green spaces and highway improvements.
Also, it says a new traffic calming scheme is being proposed to reduce speeds around Galley Common Infant School and there would be enhanced routes for walking and cycling.

Community open space, children’s play area, new trees and wildlife habitats are also promised on the site. There have been several new housing developments built off Plough Hill Road in recent years.
No official application has been submitted to the borough council about the latest as the firm says it wants to hear locals' views first. Chris O’Hanlon, planning manager for Bellway Strategic Land, said: “This site is in an ideal location to help deliver on Nuneaton’s housing targets. It is bordered by recent residential developments and has good access to schools, public transport and other facilities.
“Bellway has a strong track record building quality homes in Nuneaton and it remains a key location for growth.
“We are committed to designing a development which will cater for a broad range of people, which is why it is especially important that we capture as many views as possible."
To help spread the word, leaflets have been sent out to nearby residents and a consultation website is now live. Feedback can be given through the website until Friday, October 4, after which Bellway Strategic Land says it will look to prepare a an official planning application.
