Matt Baker has once again proved he is self-isolation goals with his wholesome farm and home projects he has been undertaking while in lockdown.

The One Show host has been delighting fans with his farm life updates, showing everything from blow-drying a wet spring chicken, to kids’s painting classes and showing us how he feeds his sheep.

Now, the presenter has done a bit of garden DIY – and he’s used some unexpected materials.

Taking to Instagram, the 42-year-old presenter posted a video of him building a sweet little bird perch using shedded deer antlers.

“At this time of year, dear shed their antlers,” he said in the clip showing up the impressive antler he got while filming Countryfile last year.

“I’ve been wondering what to do with it. So I’, going to make a bird perch,” he announced.

The video then shows the dad-of-two attaching the antlers to a tree branch before planting it in the ground for birds to land on.

Closing shots also show the project to be a success with some blue tits chilling out there.

Fans are still loving these wholesome little snippets of country life that Matt is sharing with them.

One fan wrote: “Nice work fella. I’ve spent last few days building a polytunnel. Self sufficiency bound.”

While another added: “That is brilliant myself, husband and daughter have been poorly with the virus and you have made us smile everyday thank you. Just one question do you ever sit down? To you and your family keep safe and well everyone.”

Matt is currently self-isolating due to the coronavirus outbreak, but he is in good company with his family and pets.

"One of us [in our house] has a cough, and that means we're following the Prime Minister's advice," he explained to co-host Alex Jones. "And yeah, now spending the next two weeks self-isolating."

Matt then admitted: "To be honest with you, Al, speaking with who we have over the last few days, I kinda expected this to come. I feel as ready as we can do, and more than happy to do our bit and do what's right for everybody — look out for our neighbours."
