Matthew Perry has split from his fiancée Molly Hurwitz, days after the Friends reunion hit screens around the world.
The 51-year-old, who played Chandler Bing in the hit 90s sitcom, had been dating the 29-year-old literary agent since 2018 and the couple engaged last November during the pandemic.
At the time of his engagement, he described her as the greatest woman on the face of the planet.
But in a statement to People Magazine on Wednesday, the star announced that the pair had recently parted ways.
“Sometimes things just don’t work out, and this is one of them.
“I wish Molly the best,” he added.
Perry, who has spoken publicly about his struggles with addiction over the years, has never been married before.
But he was previously in a long-term relationship with fellow actor Lizzy Caplan from Mean Girls.
The news of their separation comes just days after the release of the much-anticipated Friends reunion, where Perry joined his fellow stars in reminiscing about the hit show.
Comedian and actor James Corden fronted the reunion to a live audience and the show included guest appearances from David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, Cara Delevingne and Lady Gaga, who was censored by China in their release of the show.
The cast were not in character and appeared as themselves in the special, which was repeatedly delayed by the pandemic and was originally set to arrive in May last year.
During the reunion, Perry admitted that he would “sweat” and “freak out” when the audience did not laugh at his jokes, adding that he “felt like that every single night”.
