Maura Higgins 'adores' Strictly Come Dancing's Pete Wicks – but admits 'things get nasty'
This Morning star Maura Higgins admits she “adores” Strictly Come Dancing’s Pete Wicks, but jokes things can “get nasty” between the pair.
Maura, 33, says they first met after she took part in Love Island in 2019, with the duo “instantly clicking”. It follows recent rumours that Maura and former The Only Way is Essex (TOWIE) star Pete could be an item.
They were recently spotted sharing a kiss at an after party following the Mirror’s Pride of Britain Awards. But Pete, 36, who was hosting the red carpet with pal Sam Thompson was overheard declaring “I’m single,” the Mirror reported .

On the We Need to Talk podcast, the Irish star says she "adores" Pete before confirming the pair are just "friends". She also admitted they sometimes mock each other and share the same humour.
She said: “We just get on very, very well. I adore him, he's an amazing person.
“'Do you know what's so weird? We met very soon after me coming off Love Island and we just instantly clicked.
“Our humour is the same. It's like that sick, dark humour. It's very abusive. We abuse each other. Very nasty, it's hilarious.”

Fellow TOWIE star Chloe Sims recently described Pete as a “charmer” but initially failed to see what the allure was in the star. Speaking to MailOnline, she said: "Pete is a right b****y charmer, even men go silly for him, straight men.
“I used to look at him and think, what has this guy got? It's so bizarre, men love him, women love him, older women, younger women, he's just got something, this charm about him. I can see why all these women would be linked to him, they probably are, there's no smoke without fire.”
Pete is currently taking part in Strictly Come Dancing, paired up with Jowita Przystał. The pair have formed a close bond during their time on the show, which prompted rumours of a possible romance between them.
But, speaking at the Pride of Britain Awards, Jowita said: “We have very good chemistry together as friends, we really get on well with each other, and we have so much fun together. And dancing is a bit like acting, so we're telling a story every night on Saturday night, and I think we're doing a pretty good job with that so…”
She added: “But we're very good friends, and I love him so much as a brother, and I think we're going to stay friends for life, to be honest."
