McDonald’s Wants YOU To Choose Which Burgers Are On The Menu When It Reopens
It’s hard to look forward to anything right now, but it’s important to remember that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and things will go back to normal eventually.
With that in mind, McDonald’s has given us something to look forward to. Maccies wants us to be the ones to decide what burgers are on the menu when the fast food restaurant reopens its doors when lockdown is over.
McDonald’s latest email newsletter told customers to keep an eye on its social media channels for a chance to have their say.
The email read: “We'll be looking for your help in choosing which burgers we return with when we reopen.”
McDonald’s told The Sun: “Since our closure on Monday night, we have seen hundreds of messages from people telling us what they already miss from McDonald’s.
“We will keep in touch with our fans and followers as we start preparing our menu for reopening.”
So get your thinking caps on. Maybe you'll choose to have Australia's Chicken Parm burger on the menu? Or how about America's Double Big Mac which has not one, not two, not three, but FOUR patties!
When McDonald’s announced it would be closing all its restaurants for the time being, Paul Pomroy, chief executive Officer of McDonald’s UK & Ireland said:
“Over the last 24 hours, it has become clear that maintaining safe social distancing whilst operating busy takeaway and Drive Thru restaurants is increasingly difficult and therefore we have taken the decision to close every restaurant in the UK and Ireland by 7pm on Monday, March 23, at the latest.
“But I have been clear throughout this that we would only continue to operate whilst it was safe for our people and together with our franchisees, we feel now is the time to make this decision to temporarily close.
“We will be working closely with community groups across the UK and Ireland to distribute food from our restaurants to those most in need, and ahead of closing tomorrow evening, will ensure frontline health workers and emergency services personnel do not have to pay for any food or drink in our restaurants on sight of their work pass.
“I want to thank every single one of our 135,000 employees. I am so proud of them all for adapting so quickly to a constantly evolving work environment, taking every step to keep our customers, couriers and teams safe and looking after each other so very well.
"We will continue to update you thorough our website, social media channels and email alerts in the coming weeks but in the meantime, we thank you for your continued support and custom.”
