McDonald's bringing back iconic menu item to UK restaurants 'within days'
A popular milkshake is set to return to McDonald’s menus in days after being axed earlier this year. McDonald's has revealed the smash-hit Grimace Shake will return to its 1,450 stores this winter in a major boost for fans of the item.
McDonald's told Birmingham Live: "The iconic shake is available from 11 December for TWO WEEKS ONLY, or whilst stocks last. Fans will need to get their ice skates on to their local McDonald’s restaurant make sure they don’t miss out!
"Plus, make sure to check out the QR codes on Cold Cups and the gorgeous NEW Festive McCafé cups, allowing customers to donate directly to Ronald McDonald House Charities this Christmas." It said: "Yes, you heard it right— the hit of the summer is BACK! And just in time to bring an extra bit of sweetness to your festive celebrations!

Inspired by Grimace’s signature purple shade, the delightful shake combines a blueberry flavoured syrup blended with a creamy milkshake base - the perfect purple combination.
The Grimace Shake Cold Cup features a QR code, allowing customers to easily donate to Ronald McDonald House Charities UK and help support families with a sick child in hospital during the festive season. The fast food giant told us: "So, hurry, the shake is back in restaurants on December 11th for just TWO WEEKS, or while stocks last!"
Ronald McDonald House Charities UK has been working with McDonald’s since the Charity was founded in the UK in 1989. The Charity’s 14 Houses across the UK are partnered with NHS hospitals and provide families with free accommodation to support them whilst their child is in hospital.
Since 1989, McDonald’s and its Franchisees have raised an estimated £100 million for the Charity which goes towards the running and building of Ronald McDonald Houses across the UK.
