McDonald's customer stunned at receiving £50 fine after being told to 'park anywhere'
A McDonald's customer has been left fuming after being hit with a £50 parking fine despite being told they could "park anywhere". The driver was asked to park up at a Midlands restaurant as their order was not ready.
The customer waited for six minutes but has now been stung by a fine. They claimed all the parking bays were full so had to park somewhere else at the Trent Vale branch in Stoke-on-Trent, seemingly next to a kerb on the car park.
The customer complained signage wasn't clear, Stoke-on-Trent Live reports. The driver said: "I have received a fine for parking by McDonald's. I was there for six minutes after being advised by McDonald's to 'park anywhere' while waiting for my food and their bays were full.

"It is a shame that people keep getting caught out and that the signage isn't clearer to say that the fines apply to the roadside too. I've already paid the fine because I can't afford to pay the £100 increased fine."
Stoke-on-Trent Live has also reported how the Springfield Retail Park McDonald's branch has already snared other parking fine victims. They include Kevin Bennett who 'turned around' outside the branch after finishing his double sausage and egg McMuffin and taxi driver Kam Parvez, from Meir Park, who parked for 47 seconds and landed a £60 fine.
