A McDonald’s restaurant in Poole was closed temporarily due to a gas leak on Monday.

The branch at Tower Park in Yarrow Road was shut for a short time after a carbon dioxide leak was detected.

The fast food chain said the restaurant had to be evacuated after monitoring systems detected the leak.

The issue has since been resolved and the premises has reopened.

A McDonald’s spokesperson said: “We can confirm that our restaurant at Tower Park closed for a short period today as a result of our monitoring systems detecting a carbon dioxide leak.

The spokesperson added: “All of our people were evacuated safely and engineers have now resolved the issue.

"The restaurant is now open.”
