McDonald's sends email revealing return of iconic item 'by mistake'
McDonald’s has sent an email revealing the return of a popular milkshake flavour by MISTAKE. The item was only available for a week and an angry mum has blasted the fast food chain, which is rivalled by the likes of KFC, Subway and more, after an email was sent out by error.
The mistake told her a limited edition milkshake flavour was returning. Emily posted grabs from the correspondence on Facebook yesterday, jokingly adding "kids are crying now". McDonald's were quick to admit their mistake after the email from character Grimace.
He informed her his popular blueberry and vanilla-flavoured Grimace Shake would be available despite being discontinued in the UK on September 3. It said: "Yoo, Emily - it's Grimaceeee!! I'm gatecraaashing the birthday celebrations to bring youuu my Grimace Shake - so tryy it this week!!!"

The email was signed off with: "Luv from Grimace." A second email, as a follow up from the fast food chain, explained: "Oops! We are sorry to confirm that the Grimace Shake is sadly not back. We apologise for any disappointment caused, and hope to bring it back to the menu at some point in the future."
In reply, a fan said: "My daughter works for McDonald's and it is coming, she showed me the promo stuff." A McDonald's source told The Sun: "The email was sent by mistake and went widely. We’re working with the team to figure out how this happened."
The milkshake is inspired by the iconic purple McDonald’s character Grimace and is made by mixing blueberry syrup and a creamy milkshake base. The Grimace Milkshake was brought back to celebrate 50 years of McDonald’s in the UK.
The fast food chain has just refreshed its menu and has added a new Twix Latte, which features a Twix flavour syrup, topped with caramel cream and crumbs of the chocolate bar on top. The comeback items also include its beloved Mozzarella Dippers and the Philly Cheese Stack.
