McDonald's workers 'ignore' drive-thru customers who use 'common greeting'
A McDonald's employee has shared a common drive-thru customer habit that could result in them being ignored. The worker, who goes by the handle @maccaworkaddict on TikTok, posted a video of herself dancing with overlaid text reading: "You can't keep ignoring the car in the drive-thru because they screamed hello as soon as they get there."
She explained that this is due to an alert sound that staff receive when a car pulls up at the intercom.
While some TikTok users agreed with her, others criticised her stance.

She also suggested that if customers have pulled up and no one has spoken to them, it's acceptable to try to get a worker's attention. One user commented under the video: "How about just saying, 'One second, I'll be right with you'. I say hello because I don't know if they know I'm there."
Other drive-thru workers chimed in with their experiences. One said: "Each time they say hello I make them wait another 10 seconds lol.", reports the Irish Mirror.
Another added: "I hated this working at Burger King especially when this customer be out there sitting there yelling soon as I put the headset on."
A third related: "I do this, or immediately reply, 'Yes, How Can I Help You? ! ' making it known I'm irritated."

Meanwhile, a former McDonald's chef has spilled the beans on how to recreate the iconic Big Mac sauce at home. Mike Haracz, who was a corporate chef for the fast-food giant until 2019, has been sharing his insider knowledge on TikTok, including the recipe for the famous sauce.
In one of his popular videos, he announces: "Chef Mike here, former corporate chef for McDonald's, and I am going to give you my recipe on how to make Big Mac sauce at home."
To kick things off, Chef Mike combines one cup of mayonnaise, a 1/4 cup of sweet pickle relish, two tablespoons of Dusseldorf mustard, and one teaspoon of white wine vinegar in a bowl.
Next, he adds one and 1/4 teaspoon of paprika, one teaspoon of onion powder, one teaspoon of granulated garlic, and 1/8 teaspoon of white pepper. He explains: "All you've got to do is mix it all together. As you can see, there's no ketchup in this recipe. The colour you get from Big Mac sauce is just from paprika. You're going to let this sit for half an hour before trying. This is as close as you are going to get."
