McDonald's Workers in St Louis Join Nationwide Protest Against Workplace Sexual Harassment

McDonald’s workers and activists in St Louis, Missouri, rallied on Tuesday, September 18, as part of a nationwide strike to protest sexual harassment in the fast-food restaurant franchise.

The protesters chanted “Hold the burgers, hold the fries, keep your hands off my thighs" and carried banners, one of which said, “#MeToo McDonald’s.”

The protests – the first multi-state strike against sexual harassment in the US – were organized by the workers’ rights group Fight for $15.

Workers also demonstrated in front of McDonald’s headquarters in Chicago, with a plane flying overhead with a banner that said, “McDonald’s: Stop Sexual Harassment.”

The protests were also held in eight other cities: Milwaukee, Kansas City, New Orleans, Durham, Miami, Orlando, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
