McLaren 570GT Sport Pack brings performance upgrades to firm’s most practical supercar

A new sport pack has been launched for the McLaren 570GT to further enhance one of the brand’s most popular cars.

Including stiffer springs, quicker steering plus new uprights and actuators, the pack costs £4,900 in addition to the GT’s £157,000 price tag.

Other features are a new stability control system – lifted from its sister car, the 570S – as well as fresh damper software.

Buyers will also get a host of new additions that are part of the 570GT’s 2018 model, including carbon ceramic brakes, as standard.


Jolyon Nash, McLaren’s automotive executive director for global sales and marketing, said: “With the new 570GT Sport Pack, we have reacted to market requests for a 570GT with the driving dynamics of the 570S coupé.

“This optional handling package gives the same chassis set-up as the coupé while retaining the luxurious features, luggage space and looks of the 570GT.”

He added: “The changes for 2018 make every model in the range even more compelling. Customers attracted by the McLaren blend of lightweight, carbon-fibre construction and mid-mounted, twin-turbocharged V8 engine combining to deliver a thrilling performance can now choose from an even wider range of colours, materials and features.”

Five new Design Edition Packs have also been introduced. These combine popular exterior colours with the By McLaren luxury design interior that the brand believes “best complement them” for significantly less than if selected separately.

They comprise a Silica White exterior with Saddle Tan and Carbon Black interior, Pacific Blue with Jet Black and Areia (cream), Blade Silver with Natural Tan and Carbon Black, Fire Black with Jet Black and Areia, and Storm Grey with Jet Black and Almond White.

McLaren expects the Sport Pack to prove popular with buyers, predicting that 65 per cent of 570GTs sold will be equipped with it.
