McVities has launched plenty of different Jaffa Cakes products over the years.

Since the original orange-filled treats hit shelves 90 years ago, we've been spoilt for choice. Limited edition flavours have included lemon and lime, strawberry, blackcurrant, pineapple, cherry and passionfruit.

And they've come in all different forms too – from single pack cartons, mini pods, pocket packs, mini rolls and cake bars. But we bet you haven't seen any Jaffa Cakes like these ones!

For the first time ever, McVities has launched Jaffa Cakes that don't have a fruity theme. The controversial cakes are actually dedicated to a popular fizzy drink instead.

In a bid to attract the youth of today, Jaffa Cakes Cola Bottle are being rolled out from June 10. They cost around £1.25 for a pack of 10.

Alternatively, you can buy them in cake bar format from July 22. They'll be launching in Tesco first and retail for £1.80. But as both products are limited edition, you'll have to be quick if you want to try them.

McVitie's MD Adam Woolf said the launch was designed for youngsters – as there's a "huge appetite among the next generation of snacking shoppers for something genuinely new and different". The company has certainly impressed some – who have called the new Jaffa Cakes "surprisingly" good.

One commenter added: "A flavour which makes you 'umm' at first thought but they work very well, so good." And another gushed: "They are so nice."

But others are going to take a little bit more convincing – as they believe the fizzy flavour is a step too far. On Instagram, one wrote: "They are rancid." And another bluntly added: "It’s a NO from me, these were grim."
