Meet The Apprentice star Keir Shave from Leeds and reason he 'deserves' Lord Sugar's investment

The Apprentice is back today (January 30) where it will see 18 hopeful candidates battle it out for the top prize.

The popular BBC show, which is in its nineteenth series, will see contestants look to scope investment from Lord Sugar. Baroness Karren Brady and Tim Campbell MBE will be on hand again to keep a watchful eye on this year’s contestants to help Lord Sugar determine who is “fired” from the episode.

In total, there are 12 episodes in this year’s series, with contestants jetting off to Austria in their first challenge. One of this year’s contestants is Keir Shave, who is from Leeds and is the owner of a telemarketing company.

Let’s take a look at the candidate in more detail and see what makes him worthy of Lord Sugar’s investment.

According to the BBC, Keir “set up his telemarketing business in just three working days” and “isn’t the type to allow a challenge to slow him down.”

He now employs over 40 staff in Leeds after his previous employer went bust overnight.

Keir hopes to get Lord Sugar on board with his business plan of an online tool “designed to help sales staff at all levels throughout their sales conversations”.

According to the BBC: “The tool is designed to provide little but constant support in the form of a ‘chat-bot’ where the user can input their issue and the tool responds with ideas/tips around the sales objection.”

He believes he should win the show because he has “built and set up a successful business in a short time frame and works incredibly hard. Drive, skill and passion are what’s required to have a successful business, and I have proven I have that in abundance.”

The Apprentice season 19 premieres on Thursday, January 19, at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
