Meet the crucial third person in Ant and Dec's double act

Ant and Dec are without a doubt two of the most successful TV presenters in history, with the nation’s favourite double act keeping Britain entertained with their hilarious gags on a host of TV shows – including I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

However, there is a secret third person in cahoots with the Geordie duo, with Andy Milligan being credited as the pair’s only full-time writer in the last 12 years.

According to The Mirror, insiders claim that Andy is “as important as Brian Epstein was for the Beatles” when it comes to Ant and Dec’s career, with Andy considered the third member of Ant and Dec’s team as he crafts their script and jokes throughout all of their TV shows.

In fact, it was even Andy who suggested that the stars made light of Ant’s rehab stint in the launch episode of I’m A Celeb earlier this year, with the pair being widely praised for the way that they had addressed the scandal.

A source explained: “It might be Ant and Dec on screen, but off it they regularly work as a trio and it is Ant and Dec and Andy. The boys have him involved in all of their big shows – Takeaway, Britain’s Got Talent and I’m A Celebrity – and haven’t made a project without him in more than a decade.

“This year there was lots of scrutiny around Ant, but once again Andy has helped the boys look brilliant on screen.”

Andy’s Twitter bio simply reads: “Written all things Ant & Dec for a canny while”, although he avoids the spotlight and seems humbled by the success he has enjoyed alongside Ant and Dec – including winning Baftas earlier this year.

Although Andy joined Ant and Dec on stage as the boys accepted their win, he stood alongside the rest of the production crew and did not take any of the credit.

Yahoo Celeb UK have reached out to Andy and have contacted Ant and Dec’s reps for comment.
