Meet the spookiest bus drivers in the North East this Halloween
Bus drivers from Go North East embraced the Halloween spirit with a visit to one of the region’s most haunted castles, Lumley Castle near Chester-le-Street, County Durham.
Known for its tales of paranormal activity, the castle didn’t deter six brave drivers, who swapped their uniforms for ghostly makeovers in preparation for the operator’s Halloween celebrations.
On October 31, passengers can expect a frightful treat as drivers will be dressed in their favourite costumes. To meet these friendly phantoms behind the wheel, passengers can hop on any of six specially decorated Halloween buses, that can be tracked via the Go North East app.

Lorraine Petch, a bus driver from Go North East’s Deptford Depot, said: "Wearing fancy dress is a great opportunity for us to join in the fun and put a smile on our passengers' faces."
With Halloween falling during the school holidays, families can take advantage of Go North East’s 'Kids Go Free' deal, allowing them to explore some of the region’s haunted hangouts and exciting Halloween events.
Ben Maxfield, Business Director at Go North East, said: "This spooky celebration aligns perfectly with our ‘Kids Go Free’ offer, which runs from 26 October to 3 November 2024, allowing up to three children aged 11 and under to travel for free when accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket."
Hop on a Go North East bus for a spook-tacular Halloween adventure this October!
