Pack your swimwear and start practising your head-banging — this is your chance to go on a cruise with Megadeth.

The thrash metal icons have released tickets for their first ever seaborne adventure, the aptly named MegaCruise.

Departing from Los Angeles in October next year, the five-day trip will feature performances from the band themselves, as well numerous other heavy metal favourites.

Anthrax, Testament and DragonForce — the speed-shredding supremos of Guitar Hero fame — will also be aboard the voyage, which will make stops in San Diego, California and Ensenada on the east coast of Mexico.

Aside from all the music, seafaring fans can expect a range of activities while on the cruise, from competing against band members in sporting events to a guided wine tasting, hosted by Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine, who will be showcasing the new vintage from his own vineyard.

It will all take place aboard the Norwegian Jewel cruise ship, which features 16 restaurants, 15 lounges, pools, hot tubs and even a basketball court — providing ample refreshment before guests return to the mosh.
